Norbert Math
Norbert Math (born 1962 in Bolzano, lives in Oggau) works in the fields of radio art,
electronic music, installation and media art.
Since 1997 he is a member of the artist network alien productions.
alien productions was founded in 1997 by Andrea Sodomka (A), Martin Breindl (A), Norbert Math (I) and August Black (USA) as an artists’ network for work in the theory and practice of new technologies and media. They have all been working across borders in the field of technological art since 1985 – both individually and together and often in cooperation with other artists. alien productions stands especially for cooperative projects with other artists, technicians, theoreticians and scientists from the most diverse fields. alien productions sees itself as an open network in which specialists of the most diverse provenance work together in an interdisciplinary manner. alien productions regularly participated in collaborative radio and Internet projects.
Norbert Math is also regularly involved in productions by IMA Institute for Media Archaeology and mur.at and, with alien productions, curator for FLUSS Lower Austria Initiative for Photography and Media Art.
In 2004 he realized the installation “Die Gedächtnispumpe” at TONSPUR for a public space, Vienna.
