Julian Siffert 

In his artistic practice, Julian Siffert (*1993) often investigates the relationships between bodies and spaces at the intersection of socio-political, economic and technological systems. In doing so, he deals with topics such as spatial perception, acoustics, orientation, navigation, cartography or geography as well as their history and produces performances, sculptures, installations, videos, electronic music and works for ensembles. Concerts and exhibitions have so far taken him to Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Korea, and Switzerland, including the Staatsoper Stuttgart, Junge Oper Stuttgart, the Festival Acht Brücken Köln, Transart Festival Bozen, Kyung Hee Composition Festival Seoul, and Unerhörte Musik Berlin, as well as the Radiokulturhaus Wien. In 2018 he was a fellow of the Kunststiftung Baden Württemberg, and in 2019 he received a start-up grant from the Federal Chancellery of Austria. After studying composition in Vienna, Lyon and Stuttgart, he has been enrolled in the master’s program TransArts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 2020.
